Privacy Policy – UNO Picker

This Privacy Policy explains how the browser extension “UNO Picker” (the “Extension”) processes data when used in Microsoft Edge or other Chromium-based browsers.

2. What the Extension does

UNO Picker is a utility extension used during tennis events to fetch and display player data from an external API (for example, a tournament scoring or overlay system).

In order to function, the Extension connects to Vest Media’s API endpoint(s), such as score.vestmedia.pl, to receive tournament-related data like players’ names or match information.

3. What data is processed

The Extension does not collect, store, or profile any personal data of the person who installs or uses it in their browser.

Specifically:

  • No user accounts are created.

  • No browsing history, tabs, or visited pages are collected.

  • No personal identifiers (name, email, Microsoft/Edge account info) are collected.

  • No cookies or local storage are used for tracking or analytics.

4. Tournament and player data

The only data displayed by the Extension is tournament data provided by the server, such as players’ names and match details.
This data:

  • Is not entered by the user,

  • Is supplied by the event organizer’s backend,

  • Is used solely to display and select players within the UNO interface,

  • Is not stored locally beyond what’s required to render it.

If tournament data includes personal data (e.g., players’ names), the event organizer is the data controller for that information. UNO Picker merely displays data fetched from the tournament system.

5. No cookies, no local storage, no trackers

The Extension:

  • Does not set cookies or use localStorage/sessionStorage,

  • Does not include analytics or advertising trackers.

6. Network communications

To retrieve tournament data, the Extension makes HTTPS requests to Vest Media’s API or the tournament’s endpoint.
As with any internet service, the server may temporarily log:

  • IP address of the request,

  • Date and time,

  • Requested resource,

  • Error codes (if any).

These are standard server logs used for security, debugging, and system maintenance. The Extension itself does not store or process this data.

7. Legal basis

Data processing (mainly server logs and tournament data) is based on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — ensuring proper functionality, stability, and security of the API.

8. Data sharing and recipients

Vest Media does not sell, rent, or trade any data obtained through the Extension.
Hosting or infrastructure providers may process limited technical data solely to deliver API responses.

9. Data retention

The Extension does not retain user data.
Server logs are stored only temporarily (typically a few weeks) and then deleted or anonymized.

10. Your rights (GDPR)

If your personal data (e.g., as a listed tournament player) is processed on our infrastructure, you may request:

  • Access to your data,

  • Correction of inaccurate data,

  • Erasure or restriction of processing,

  • Objection to processing,

  • Lodging a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

In most cases, you should contact the tournament organizer first, as they are the original data source.

11. Children’s data

UNO Picker is intended for professional/tournament use and is not designed for children or for collecting data from minors.

12. Security

We use standard technical and organizational measures (including HTTPS encryption) to secure communications with the API.
However, no internet transmission is completely secure.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically, for example due to changes in functionality or legal requirements.
The most recent version will always be available on our official website or the Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing.
